No Camera Kansas City

A little over a year ago I got it in my head that I wanted a DSLR camera and that if/when I had one I would learn how to be this amazing photographer and would have some badass pictures of every/any event that I participated in so I could show them off to all my friends and have these awesome memories stuck in freeze frame.

So I bought the camera (which I absolutely love) but a year and a half later have yet to fully figure it out let alone be very satisfied with my photo taking skills. My biggest problem with it though? REMEMBERING TO ACTUALLY TAKE IT OUT OF MY BAG!!

This past weekend the beau and I ventured to Kansas City to meet up with a few of my friends and spend a weekend just hanging out enjoying each others company and trying a few new things and it definitely lived up to the hype we made about it!!

We got off to a little bumpy start driving down a 2 lane highway that seemed to drag on for years and test our patience but once we arrived in Kansas City it was non stop fun and laughter (and too much great BBQ for our own good!). We stopped by my younger sister's new place to check it out before freshening up in our hotel and heading out on the town!  We left it up to our friends Katie and Tyler to take us somewhere fun and honestly were a little scared when we arrived at a slightly sketchy looking whole in the wall but were pleasantly surprised when we got inside and heard a fantastic cover band playing called the Stolen Winnebagos. There were plenty of drinks, lots of laughs, and even a little dancing :) Once we got back to the hotel we continued catching up with our amazing southern friends and divulging in wine and moonshine before finally calling it a night.

Saturday was la boyfriend's big 29th birthday and we sure got carazay with breakfast at Waffle House (neither of us had ever been) 

with our southern friends followed by an afternoon of shopping at the mall where we ordered new running shoes for him (his birthday present) and a few new shirts. After a nice afternoon nap we got gussied up and went to dinner at Jack Stack (birthday boy was craving BBQ).

We ended our trip with a little breakfast-trip to The Bass Pro Shop (WOO!), and lunch with my younger sister and her husband at a cute little hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint called Smokin' Joe's BBQ before venturing home!

I'd absolutely LOVE to show you more photos or a camera roll of all our adventures HOWEVER I forgot to take my dang camera out!!
