This week has been a very productive, exciting, scary, slightly stressful week = BUSY! First off I've been engaged for 2 weeks now and all I had accomplished was buying a wedding planning book (of course I'd only got as far as the first 5 pages), so I figured it was about time I sat down and did something productive. Oh my gosh was my ADD brain just rollin'!
I only have a couple hundred ideas as too how I see this wedding being put together and I must say its all falling together pretty close to perfectly! Most of you know that I'm not a real fancy person by nature. Now don't get me wrong, I like nice things but I'm not in to real extravagant things. So it may come as no surprise to some when I announce that Derek and I will officially tie the knot August 9, 2014 in a BARN!! It is a gorgeous barn located in the Amana Colonies, which is easily my favorite place on the face of this earth!
As a kid growing up, my sisters and I spent many summers there with our great Aunt Fern and Uncle Carl visiting all the historic shops and restaurants and getting little lessons on our German heritage. I am beyond excited to share this sweet sweet town with friends and family (new and old) that have never been before !! It'll be amazing :)
It's also a pretty incredible feeling to see how many people you know who have talents and ideas they are willing to share to help you put your special day together. Between decorations, photography, flowers, and even officiating our wedding, are amongst the many things friends and family are offering/willing to help with and I couldn't feel more blessed!
Nailing down a wedding date at an amazing venue was the most exciting. Then yesterday Derek and I took another leap into full fledged adulthood when we went to the bank to get pre approved for a house loan (the scary)!! AAAHhh!! I just sat there with nervous sweats feeling like Lily from How I Met Your Mother waiting for the loan officer to spill the beans that my credit score is crap and we wouldn't get a loan because of me...anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyone? Good news though! I'm no Lily and aside from living in the shadows of my student loans I'm not doing too bad. So on to the house hunting! We have our reality check and our price range. All that's left is the stressful job of finding our future home... No pressure right??!! Life here is full of BIG but EXCITInG changes!! Woofta...beer me!
Peace and blessin's
